Wacken Open Air: The World's Largest Metal Festival

First of all, a question:

Is there any way to say nothing about this wonderful festival?

Many of us metalheads simply know the festival by the acronym "W.O.A" which is called by Wacken Open Air.

This great festival began in the middle of 1990, exactly 27 years ago, but only playing with underground bands of Germany at the time. The biggest bands that have gone through the festival so far were mainly from the Scandinavian and European countries, however we can also consider a large volume of Brazilian bands to present themselves as: (Torture Squad, Angra, Overdose, Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy, Krisiun, Tuatha de Danann, Malefector, Threat, Cangaço, Warbith and others), outside bands from other countries like American, Australian, Canadian, Danish and many other countries.

The W.O.A festival takes place every year between late July and early August and is simply 3 insane days of pure metal loud and clear with a campground for over 80,000 metalheads. This event happens in a small village called Wacken that lies within Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. With each passing year, the public is increasing more and more beating the record and I'm talking about people coming from all over the world, including our Brazilian metalheads who are always marking their presence.

The Wacken Open Air offers a mega and wide food structure, with many food and beverage outlets such as: Pizzas, Potato Chips, Noodles, Yakisoba, Snacks, and the dish of the house that is called "Curry Wurst" without Count on the quantity of drinks that is sold all around the festival like: Beer with a giant mug containing 1 Liter and Soft drinks of diverse flavors in glasses of up to 300 ML.

In addition to being able to count on a fantastic infrastructure of sale of articles of metal generally called "Metal Market" that is like the Disneyland of Heavy Metal. You'll find records, cds, dvds, clothes, medieval weapons and a myriad of articles, plus a few small stage shows on the spot.

Wacken Open Air 2017 takes place on the 3rd and 5th of August and many bands have already been confirmed and you can now check:
